Lego, and how amazing it is

Lego is a line of construction toys that was made by Ole Kirk Christiansen. Lego is really amazing for 2 reasons. First, you can construct anything you want. Second, you can let your mind roam free when you are constructing your creations, let’s call them, when you are building with Lego.

This was why Lego was invented, for construction of toys that can. I personally love constructing with Lego, and the reason why Lego is so good for building with is because they have raised parts on them for connecting other pieces of Lego. Which means that anything can be build from Lego.

The good thing about let your imagination roam wild is that if you have a huge imagination many things can happen. That is another thing great thing about Lego you can let your imagination roam wild. Kids these days do seem to have big imaginations. Just like me, I remember once when I was 7 I loved the 2nd episode of Star Wars so I built, with my Lego, a fleet of clones of about 50, but there were no droids though because I ran out of pieces.

In conclusion, Lego is awesome for building and for the imagination that is why it is so amazing.

If I could go anywhere in space it would be………

If I could go anywhere in the galaxy I would go to several planets. First, I would go to Mars. Second, I would go to an uninhabited planet that has an atmosphere and dub it (this is for Tristan and all Halo geeks out there) REACH!!!!!!!!!!!! Third, I would most likely want to visit a planet in Andromeda, which is the galaxy next to ours. Hopefully less-than-light space travel will be invented before I go to Reach and Andromeda.

I would visit Mars for several purposes. First, it will be the next planet visited by humans. Second, I have always wanted to have a space rock. Third, the government should not have a big problem about so I could get super quick training and be blasted off into space. Last, I could brag to Tristan that I have a space rock and he doesn't.

I would go to that uninhabited planet for again several purposes. First, I have always wanted to feel superior over everyone by having my own planet, even though I may have issues with NASA and the government, so I say “Screw you people, I can do what I want”. Second, if people came and inhabited Reach I would be their leader, which could be good or bad, most likely bad I would say of course because I am a pessimist never a optimist. Third, I could have more space rock and brag to Tristan even more.

I would also like to visit some planet in Andromeda for several more reasons. First, you guessed it more space rock and bragging to Tristan. Second, to see the wonders of the planets on Andromeda. Third, help scientists like Tristan in the future answer questions about Andromeda, and all the age old questions. Last, I can be the guinea pig for less-than-light travel.

Well, now you all know what planets I would like to visit if the government lets me. Stinking Feds and government officials not letting me go into space and lead my own followers. Oh well, I most likely would not have done it anyway, but if I could if the government doesn’t stop me I totally would, but you all know me I am a pessimist so I always assume the worst.

My predictions for the Stanley Cup playoffs

My predictions for the Stanley Cup playoffs are really quite simple. Between the Blackhawks and Canucks, Vancouver is most likely to lose because the Chicago Blackhawks have a speed advantage, and what the Canucks have is skill and skill always loses to speed. Between Detroit and San Jose, Detroit is likely to win because of the experience that the Red Wings have the experience. Between the Penguins and the Canadians the Habs will lose because the Pens have the skill, speed, and the experience, Montreal got lucky when they won against the Caps, the only way that Montreal could win is if the Penguins just got too over-confident or if their play is just sloppy and Montreal takes advantage. Between the Flyers and the Bruins it seems like the Bruins are most likely to win, but it could go either way even though that the Bruins have the 2 game advantage.

For the Semi-finals the Penguins, Detroit, Chicago, and Boston are in. For the games Pittsburgh and Boston it looks like it could go either way, so it really depends. Between Chicago and Detroit most likely Detroit will win because of their experience again. So the potential for another Final repeat is quite high. For one reason, Detroit had another easy way to the Stanley Cup Final. First, Detroit made easy work of Phoenix because that was for the first time that the Coyotes were in the playoffs. Second, Detroit has a lead against the Sharks in the series. Third, Detroit can make again easy work of Chicago even though they are the 1st seed in the playoffs.

For the Final, I am not exactly too sure what will happen. I think that it could go either way. The Finals series between the Detroit ad Pittsburgh is tied at one cup a piece. Pittsburgh is quite a young team that has skill, speed, and dreams. Detroit is an older team with some young people there, that has experience, skill. When it comes to offense Pittsburgh does have a slight advantage. Defence, Detroit has an advantage. For Goaltending, Jimmy Howard of the Red Wings has been doing quite well, and for that reason I would say that it is at a tie. So for these reasons this series will easily go to a game 6 or 7, it going to be a good series.

In conclusion, based on the facts that I have here the Stanley Cup could be won by the again either the Penguins or the Red Wings. We will have to wait and see.

My favourite Team(s)

My favourite  teams in the NHL are the Toronto Maples Leafs obviously, the Vancouver Canucks, and the Phoenix Coyotes. I don’t tend to watch any other sports than hockey.

I like the Maple Leafs for several reasons. First, they were an amazing team in the early 2000s with old veterans, and good young rookies. They are stinking now, but that will change with the help of Bryan Burke, the best general manger of the NHL. Last,  they have the second most amount of Stanley Cups with 11, currently Montreal has the lead with 24.

I like the Vancouver Canucks for several other reasons. First, they’re not that old of a team, maybe about 10-20 years their organization has existed, and already their team nearly won a Stanley Cup on several occasions. Second, before I knew about the Leafs my favourite teams was the Canucks.

I like the Phoenix Coyotes for one reason and this is it. After all of the controversies of being sold to Jim Balsilie and moved to Hamilton, and during the beginning of the season and looked like it was over for the Coyotes, but at the end they started to win a lot of games and climbed in the standings and was first for some time, but then they lost a few games and ended up in fourth place, and were knocked out of the playoffs by the Detroit Red Wings.

In conclusion, as you can see I don’t only like the leafs (stinking haters) I like other teams.

ITunes vs. Limewire

ITunes and Limewire the question is which one is better? Personally I think that Limewire is better for several reasons. First it is all free, but it is illegal in US for that reason. Second, it is good for downloading music and movies and stuff like that, ITunes is only good for holding music and movies and all that stuff. Last even if the artist is not well known in the world or if the music or movie that you want to get is currently not out Limewire is still capable of letting you, the costumer downloading it. Yet with every good downloading company there are its cons.

It may be illegal in the US to have and download things from Limewire, but not here in Canada and many other places. When it comes to downloading Limewire is more quick than ITunes and doesn't need money to get what music, movies, and pictures that you want. Even if the thing you want to get is not out you can still get with Limewire. One con about Limewire is that everything that you download takes up a lot of memory that is why ITunes is good at holding music from that reason memory.

In conclusion, seeing as there are more pros than there are cons in this post it proves that Limewire is more better and capable than dumb ITunes. Stinking Limewire haters.

Better.

Worse.

Your choice.

The Mythbusters

The Mythbusters is a science entertainment shows where five people named Adam Savage, Jaime Hyneman, Tory Belleci, Kari Byron, and Grant Imahara. They take myths, legends, movie scenes, and sayings and put them to the test.

The Mythbusters often test myths in two-step process. First, they would make a small scale experiment to understand all of the physics. Second, they would go full scale and test the myth to see if it is true. Sometimes thought so of the myths are so simple they just go for full scale. An example of this is was when they tested if one banana peel equals one person slipping and falling, but at times they see that going full scale is sometimes not the best way to test the myths and run some small scale tests to again understand the physics of the myth.

The Mythbusters are based in San Francisco and all of the filming is also done, but the show is produced in Australia. Then it is shown in Canada, the US, and several other countries.

After the experiment of a myth has been tested, the Mythbusters give the myth a busted, plausible, or confirmed. When a myth is busted, it means that the myth could not be replicated in any way even if they give it thee best possible chance of working. When a myth is plausible, the myth parameters have been replicated by expanding it by a realistic and reasonable margin, or was replicated very close as the myth said, or if the myth worked, but has a very small chance of working, and even if it is plausible, but the method of replication is not recommended, as well as if the scenario made a very similar result. When a myth is confirmed it means that the myth was either been recreated or closely recreated without them expanding the boundaries too much.

In conclusion, Mythbusters is known very well for the science implicated and all of the big explosions and crashes that are shown (the explosions and crashes are the crowd pleaser). This is why I really like this show for learning purposes and the ability to see a big explosion or crash now and then.

Future weapons

Future weapons is a show that showcases some of the smartest, and deadliest weapons of the future. It was hosted by Richard Machowicz who was a former navy SEAL sniper. It features many guns, missiles, bombs, planes, and tanks as well as many other things.

The weapons it feature are the TAR-21, cornershot, starstreak missiles, anti-missile lasers, and the XM982 Excalibur artillery shells, as well as the feared metalstrom capable of shoot 100000 rounds a minute which is scary. It also features vechiles such as the type-212 submarine, the feared AH-64D longbow Apache helicopter, the F-35 JSF (joint strike fighter), and the F-22 raptor, and the NOLOS cannon as well as many other things.

In conclusions, the world of the military is advancing very quickly, and this show shows us what we are capable of.

JSF in flight.

evensong....oh how i hate it

Evensong, a 35 minute church service that I think is a waste of time. They’re weird and dumb if they like it. There are multiple reasons that I personally hate it. First, I’m atheist which means I don’t even believe in God. Second, it’s super boring. Last, we are forced to join even if no one wants to go.

Being atheist means that I don’t believe in God. I don’t care about any of the lessons that people often read. I don’t sing any of the hymns or read any of the prayers. I think that they are all pointless those books in the chapel, I feel bad for the people who had to make all those books for the chapel. Being atheist means that I believe more in the Big Bang and evolution.

The reason that evensong is boring because you do the same thing over and over again. I mean all you do is stand, then sit, then stand, and then sit, see it’s pointless. It may seem very new at first, but it gets very boring very quickly.

I think that we should get the option to go to evensong or not. If no one wants to go then the school doesn’t even need to do it. I do know that it does make the schedule perfect, but the school can just replace it with another homeroom period, it is at least better than evensong.

In conclusion, most if not every person despises evensong. If everyone hates it , just do what I do get rid of it!!!!

The US military

The US military is the most powerful military force to man. They use the most advance weapons of warfare to defeat their enemies, but even with this technology many things have eluded them such as the terrorist effect on the world. They have very many men and women currently serving them, and if you see the numbers you will be astonished. What make a good military a very good one is the amount of money that you have.

The US military has about more the one million men and women serving them. That's a lot of people! In the army alone there are more then half a million people. Then there are the Marines, the Airforce, the Navy, and the Coast Guard that account for the other half a million. They also have reserves that have more then 800000 people, so if you add that all up you have about 2 million people serving in the US military alone, of course there are many other militaries as well. Every year the US armed forces get more then $600 million dollars to spend onh things such as: supplies, personnel, new vechiles, aircraft, ships.

The USs' war on terrorism has lasted for a very long time, and your probably wondering "why have all the terrorists have been defeated yet?" Well that is a very good question, which I don't have the answer to. The US though do have more then 142000 people stationed in Iraq trying to kill all the terrorists, yet with their imense numbers, somehow the terrorists still have notbeen stopped. Odd isn't it.

In conclusion, it's true that the US military is the most powerful military faction on the planet. Yet somehow, in someway they have not been able to defeat the terrorists.

The F-22 raptor

The F-22 Raptor is the most powerful jet in existence, and is as well as the most advanced on the planet. It has the best performance on the planet. It carries weapons that any jet would have. Yet there are not many things that people don't know about the Raptor.

The F-22 is capable of supersonic and subsonic speeds. It has special vector nozzles which make more maneuverable. The highest speed of the F-22 has not been shown yet to the public, but it may be showed in the future. The weapons that the Raptor features are: anti-air missiles, bombs used for taking out certain positions. The F-22 also has many systems that make as powerful as it is. They are: missile approaching systems, long range target acquisition system, scanning arrays, and as well as many other systems.

In conclusion, the F-22 Raptor is a power jet that combines speed, performance, and stealth. This is a jet that you do not want to see on the battlefeild.

What I would do with 40 million dollars

If I had 40 million dollars I personally will do many things. Yet with that amount of money the choices would still be difficult to know what I would want to do.

First I invest the money so I can make more money. Next I would give some money to charity because I'm nice like that. Third I would take a trip around the world and see all the wonders that has brought our world to this level. Then I would buy all the video games and electronics that i would want. Fifth I would give some money to my family. Sixth I would make a product that makes me famous and I would be able to make more money. Last I would many extreme things like skydiving.

To conclude I could easily think of many other things that I could do with that much cash, but there would be wayyyyy too many things though.

Strategy games, good for the brain

Strategy games are games that involve well strategy. They help you get your brain going because they often involve good decisions.

A strategy game is a game (e.g. computer, video or board game) in which the players' decision-making skills have a high significance in determining the outcome. Many games include this element to a greater or lesser degree, making demarcation difficult. It is therefore more accurate to describe a particular game as having a certain degree of strategic elements, as in being mainly based around strategic principles. The crucial factor that separates this type of game from all others is that there is relatively little chance involved. All players have equal degree of knowledge of the elements of the game. There is no physical skill required other than that necessary to interact with the game pieces. Examples are English draughts, Chess, Chinese checkers, Stratego, Go, Shogi, Nine Men's Morris, Mastermind.

There is one big thing that you always need in strategy games, and that is luck. Most often times in strategy games things are hit and miss. Strategy (and tactics) are usually contrasted with luck, the outcome of luck-based games relying on probability. Games exist on a continuum from pure skill to pure chance, with strategic games usually towards the skill end of the spectrum. The word "strategy" is borrowed from a military jargon. It originally refers to planning at a very high level and often strategy games deal rather with planning on a smaller scale for which the word "tactics" is used in a military context. As you can see to be a good strategist it is more about knowing what your enemy is up to, instead of just going in and getting killed.

To conclude, strategy games are important because they teach you good decision-making skills which are very important later in life.

The Discovery Channel, the world is just awesome.

The Discovery channel is a channel that shows people shows about science, advanced technologies, and the history. Few people in our school like, many don't. Too many, in fact. Oh well, can't change their minds.

The Discovery Channel is an American satellite and cable TV channel that is similar to that of the National Geographic Channel and History. It was founded by John Hendricks and distributed by Discovery Communications. It provides documentary programming focused primarily on popular science, technology, and history as said above. In the U.S., the programming for the main Discovery network is primarily focused on reality-based television themes, such as speculative investigation (with shows such as MythBusters, Unsolved History, and Best Evidence), automobiles, and occupations (Dirty Jobs and Deadliest Catch); it also features documentaries specifically aimed at families and younger audiences. A popular annual feature is Shark Week.

On June 17, 1985, Discovery Channel was launched with $5 million in start-up capital from the BBC, the American investment firm Allen and Company, Venture America and several other investors. In the beginning it was available to 156,000 households and would broadcast for 12 hours between 3 p.m. and 3 a.m. with about 75 percent of the content new to American viewers John Hendricks is credited with founding of the channel and its parent company, then known as Cable Educational Network Inc, in 1982. Within five years, the channel's reach had extended to over 50 million households. It is still odd how things change so fast isn't it. In 2007 the top series of the Discovery Channel was Dirty Jobs, and Emmy-award winning Planet Earth, Mythbusters (best show ever), and Deadliest Catch. See it won awards.

To conclude, Discovery Channel is currently the most widely distributed cable network in the United States, reaching more than 92 million households, part of its global audience of 431 million homes in 170 countries and territories. Versions of the channel are seen in Latin America, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, India, Malaysia and other countries. As you all well see Discovery Channel may end up as the most popular Channel on the planet, if it is I will laugh at the people at school.

Video games, how fun

Yes, yes, I know what you are now all thinking, addicted much. Don't worry I'm not going to write about Halo or Call of Duty 6. What I'm really going to talk about is how video games were made and how they were marketed. There, happy. Hopefully yes.

A video game is an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device. The word video in video game is traditionally referred to a raster display device, but let's keep that a secret. To put in simple terms it is a disc with lots of pixels of pictures generated by the game developers. They also have lots of information in computer codes that not too many people except Tristan may understand. If you don't understand the even simpler terms I will force to put your head down in shame. I know you are, or maybe not... BUT DO IT ANYWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not going to dumbify it anymore.

Now on to marketing which is one of the most important steps for any game. Does the crowd, the people like said game. Well I usually can't predetermine that, but if a game has that trait it will be a successful video game. The three largest producers of and markets for computer and video games (in order) are North America (US and Canada), Japan and the United Kingdom. Honorable mentions are going to Australia, Spain, Germany, South Korea, Mexico, France and Italy. Both India and China are considered emerging markets in the video game industry and sales are expected to rise significantly in the coming years. It also depends on local preferences. If you're in Japan most likely you would prefer Nintendo games, like Pokemon and Mario the best. If you are in Korea you like Starcraft and other strategy games the best. If you live in North America you most likely love shooting, sport, and strategy games the best. As you can see each country loves a variety of games.

To conclude, video games have come a long way since the earliest games. Like that game where have two things and you hit a ball back and forth trying to score a point, and tic tac toe. To games that have many things that look so real. Now I wonder what effects will be implemented in the future? Will there be a Call of Duty 7 most likely yes, but I don't know. Hopefully there will be.

Statistics where would we be without them

Statistics show the world how much a percent of something there is, or the amount of certain things, to put into shorter terms something to do with numbers. Seeing the "Did You Know?" video defiantly did prove some things. First, during the course of the presentation the near 700000 songs that are illegally downloaded in five minutes which how long the video is. Second, which was what really amazed me is that India has more honor kids then the Americans have kids. Third, the amount of information that we send out on the Internet is mind-blowing: 4 exabytes to put that as a number, simply think of it as a 4 with a small platoon of zeroes (4.0*10 times itself 19 times). Lastly, Japan known for doing some amazing things with technology, but this is going over the limit. What they did was they created a fibre optic cable, with each strand able to send 14 trillion bits of information per second. That's sending about 175 gigs per second times 60 is 10500 gigs per minute which I think is amazing. These were in my opinion my favourite statistics of this video.

To answer the video's question of what all these statistics mean is quite simple. It means that we are making advances in technology. People of course always have a tendency to say, "Hey let's make this technology to make people feel better by make this faster and improving stuff." What is extremely dumb is even with these helpful advances in technology, most of them are useless. Like paint on most windows computers, and the social adaptations. You know that's all useless, all people really need in a computer is to do work. The only reason they add other stuff is because they either don't have it or they want the technological advancements in computers to seem like they're the better computer.

In conclusion, we have made many advances in technology even though some of our advances are kind of useless, but still companies still think they do have some sort of use. When will they learn you ask. They won't.
